So, I was reading this really interesting article about Henry Ford and his death during a massive flood in Dearborn, Michigan back in 1947. I never realized he died during such a crazy natural disaster!
Basically, the Rouge River flooded big time and it caused a lot of damage to Ford’s estate, as well as the homes and businesses in the area. Unfortunately, Ford was also dealing with ailing health at the time and passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage just a few days after the flood.
It’s crazy to think about how much has changed in the past 76 years. The article goes into detail about how the river has been transformed for the better, with the help of environmental groups and government agencies. And of course, Ford’s legacy as an industrial pioneer continues to impact the way we live and work today.
I remember learning about Ford in school and thinking he was this incredibly important historical figure, but I had no idea he died in such an unexpected way. It goes to show that even the most accomplished people can be taken by surprise. Plus, it’s a reminder that natural disasters can strike at any time and we need to be prepared for them.
Anyway, that’s my two cents on the subject. It was a fascinating read and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in history or environmental issues.
