Alta hits 900" of snow after late spring storm

I read an article about Alta getting smacked with 900 inches of snow during a freak late spring storm. It was crazy!

Apparently, it snowed so much that they had to shut down the resort and start doing controlled avalanche work to clear out all the powder. I can’t even imagine what it must have been like to see that much snow falling in May.

But, as wild as it sounds, it’s not really all that surprising. Alta is one of those places that gets an absurd amount of snowfall each year - more than anywhere else in Utah, actually. So, I guess it was only a matter of time before they hit the 900 inch mark.

I’ve never been to Alta myself, but a friend of mine who’s a big-time skier loves going there. He says that the snow is always amazing, and that the resort has some of the best terrain in the country.

This article definitely got me thinking about planning a trip to Alta in the future. I mean, who wouldn’t want to experience that much snow? Plus, it’s always cool to see how nature can surprise us with something as simple as a late spring storm.

All in all, it’s pretty clear that Alta is a special place that’s worth checking out if you’re a skiing or snowboarding enthusiast. So, if you’re looking for some insane amounts of powder, go ahead and add it to your bucket list!
