As climate warms, overlapping wildfires are changing forest resilience

I came across an article about how climate change is making wildfires more frequent and intense, and it’s having a huge impact on forests. Apparently, when fires overlap and keep coming back year after year, the forests aren’t able to recover as well, which means they’re less resilient and vulnerable to other disturbances like insect outbreaks or disease.

It’s crazy to think about how much the planet is changing, and how much we’re all going to have to adapt in the coming years. I know that, living in California, we’ve had some really rough wildfire seasons lately, and it’s only going to get worse if we don’t start taking climate change more seriously.

I think it’s really important that we all educate ourselves about these issues, and try to make a difference in whatever way we can. Whether that means reducing our carbon footprint, supporting politicians who prioritize environmental protection, or raising awareness amongst our friends and family, we all have a role to play in making sure our planet is habitable and healthy for generations to come.
