So I came across this article about the Baldwin Emergency Management Agency’s (EMA) recent town hall meeting on severe weather preparedness for 2023. I gotta say, the organizers really brought their A-game and had some insightful info to share.
Basically, the EMA stressed the importance of having a plan in place for natural disasters and urged residents to stock up on emergency supplies like food, water, and first aid kits. They also talked a lot about different types of severe weather we might experience and how to stay safe during them.
One thing that really stood out to me was their emphasis on communication during emergencies. They suggested that families designate a meeting spot in case they get separated and even recommended investing in a battery-powered radio or Ham radio to stay informed during power outages.
As someone who’s experienced a few hurricanes and tornadoes in my lifetime, I really appreciate the work the Baldwin EMA is doing to keep us informed and safe. It’s always better to be overprepared than underprepared when it comes to natural disasters.
Overall, I think this article serves as a great reminder that we can never be too ready for Mother Nature’s wrath. Who knows what kind of severe weather we’ll face in 2023, but thanks to the Baldwin EMA, we’ll be as prepared as we can be.
