So I was reading this crazy article today about the public schools in Broward County staying closed for a second day due to historic floods! Apparently they got hit with some serious rain and now the classrooms are all water logged. Can you imagine trying to teach and learn in that?
Anyway, I digress. So, basically, classes were cancelled on Friday and they’re going to be closed again on Monday, but are expected to resume on Tuesday. The floods have caused road closures and power outages, so it’s really not safe for students and teachers to be navigating around all that mess.
It’s wild how unpredictable the weather can be - we’ve had some pretty intense storms where I live too, and it’s always a hassle when it starts causing damage and delays like this. But safety always comes first, so it’s good that the schools are taking the necessary precautions.
All in all, it’s an important reminder of how interconnected our daily lives can be with the natural world, and how we need to be prepared for whatever comes our way. Stay safe out there!
