Colorado spring storm: How much rain, snow fell on April 25-26

So, I came across an article that talked about the recent Colorado spring storm and how much precipitation it brought to the state. It was honestly wild, with some areas recording almost a foot of snow and others getting over 3 inches of rain in just 24 hours!

According to the National Weather Service, the storm swept through Colorado on April 25-26, bringing both snow and rain to various regions. Places like Boulder and Fort Collins saw up to 7 inches of snow, while Denver and other lower elevation areas got anywhere from 2-4 inches of slushy snow mixed with rain. Along with that, some places in southeastern Colorado saw flash flooding due to heavy rain.

Now, I’m not one to complain about a little precipitation - I mean, I do live in the Pacific Northwest after all - but it’s pretty crazy to think about how much water fell from the sky in just two days. Plus, it’s interesting to consider how all that snow and rain will impact things like the state’s water supply, wildfire risk, and outdoor recreation.

Overall, the article highlights just how quickly and drastically weather can change, and how vital it is to stay informed and prepared for any sudden storms. Plus, it’s a good reminder to always keep an extra pair of socks and a few granola bars in your car - you never know when you might get stuck in a snowy traffic jam!
