So, I just read an article about Hurricane Ridge’s shuttle service being delayed ‘cause of a fire. Apparently, there was a fire in one of the buses last month, and that caused some hiccups in the shuttle service for Olympic National Park visitors.
According to the Peninsula Daily News, the service is expected to resume by the end of August. The good news is that visitors can still access Hurricane Ridge through private vehicles, so they can still enjoy the sweeping panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains and the lush greenery.
This news hits home for me ‘cause I used to visit Hurricane Ridge all the time as a kid. It was one of the first places my family went hiking and camping. And let me tell you, the views up there are incredible. On a clear day, you can see as far as Canada! I never took the shuttle, but I can imagine how helpful it must be for people who don’t have cars or who want a break from driving.
Overall, I think it’s important to be aware of this situation if you’re planning a trip to Olympic National Park. It’s a stunning natural wonder that’s definitely worth seeing, but it’s always good to check if there are any updates or changes to the services or facilities. Plus, it’s a reminder to appreciate our public lands and the hardworking people who maintain and protect them.
