I read this crazy article the other day about CNN and their never-ending push for climate change awareness. But get this—now they’re tying it in with race! The article was called “More climate change hustling by CNN: Cloudy with a chance of racism?” and it definitely caught my attention.
Basically, the article talks about how CNN is trying to connect climate change with racism, claiming that certain groups of people, like minorities, are being disproportionately affected by climate change. They argue that these groups are more likely to live in areas that are more polluted and have less access to clean water and air.
Now, I’m not saying that climate change isn’t a real issue, but I think it’s kind of ridiculous to make the connection with race. I mean, it’s not like the climate is intentionally discriminating against certain people, right?
But, on the other hand, I do think it’s important to recognize that certain communities are being hit harder by the effects of climate change than others. I grew up in a city that was often plagued by air pollution, and I know firsthand how crappy it is to have to breathe in dirty air every day.
Overall, I think the article raises some interesting points about the way that CNN is portraying climate change, and how it can be a divisive issue if we start connecting it with race. At the end of the day, we all need to work together to find solutions that benefit everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
