I just read an article about Pittsburgh weather and there are some tips you need to know to keep safe when Mother Nature gets nasty. Basically, when there’s wicked weather about to descend upon the city, there are a few things you need to do to prepare yourself and your family. First, have a plan in case you lose power, so make sure you have flashlights, blankets, and other supplies handy. Second, check your gutters and make sure they’re clear of debris so water doesn’t build up and cause damage to your home. Lastly, stay away from downed power lines! It may seem like common sense, but it’s worth repeating.
I remember one time when I was in high school there was a big snowstorm and school was cancelled for a few days. My friends and I got together and decided to build a giant snow fort. It was really fun, but looking back on it, we probably should have been more careful. We didn’t think about the weight of the snow on the structure or where we were building it. Luckily, nothing happened, but it could have been dangerous.
With Pittsburgh being located in an area that’s prone to extreme weather, it’s important to take precautions to keep yourself and your family safe. By being prepared and knowing what to do in advance, you can minimize any potential damage and stay safe during wicked weather.
