The connection between climate change and Typhoon Mawar threatening Guam : NPR

So I just read this article on NPR about how Typhoon Mawar is threatening Guam and the connection to climate change. Basically, the article talks about how the increased ocean temperatures due to climate change are causing more intense storms, like Typhoon Mawar, to occur. Guam is particularly susceptible to these storms because it’s a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

What really caught my attention was how the article mentioned that this isn’t the first time Guam has faced a devastating storm. Back in 2018, Typhoon Mangkhut hit the island and caused extensive damage. It’s scary to think about how these storms are becoming more frequent and more powerful because of climate change.

But it’s not just Guam that’s at risk. Climate change is affecting the entire planet, from rising sea levels to more extreme weather events. It’s important that we take action now to reduce our carbon emissions and try to limit the impact of climate change.

I don’t know about you, but reading articles like this makes me feel like we really need to do something before it’s too late. I mean, we only have one planet and we need to take care of it.
